Founder's Story
Every Pain Point and Joy of Proxy Shopping
In 2011, I started Global EZshop on Facebook, driven by my passion for Japan. I'd fly there carrying huge bags, hunting through department stores and drugstores for items my customers wanted.
Over the years, the business grew — I rented an office and warehouse in Hong Kong, serving SME retailers with Japanese wholesale. We processed thousands of orders.
Through it all, one thing became clear: finding a reliable on-the-ground shopper in Japan is incredibly difficult. You need someone actually there, who speaks the language, who knows which store has what.
After closing Global EZshop in 2023, I established Equal Voice Lab Limited and created Michi (道). Not to replace proxy shopping, but to help talented Japan-based shoppers be discovered — to become your path to Japan.
